Our day will conclude with a visit to the baptismal site on the Jordan River called Yardenit before arriving at the hotel for the night. Today’s tour includes a special lunch of St. Peter’s Fish.
FRIDAY, April 14
Israel’s northern border with Lebanon awaits us on Friday. We’ll see the head springs of the Jordan River at Tel Dan, an ancient town of the tribe of Dan. This town contains ancient city gates, one of which mentions Abraham. We will also visit the Banias (Caesarea Philippi) Nature Reserve below Mount Hermon. Here, Peter recognized Jesus as the Messiah. Our day will conclude with a visit to Tabgha and Kursi before arriving at the hotel for the night.
Saturday, APril 15 | Possibility of late check-in due to the sabbath.
This morning, we will travel south through the Jordan River Valley. Our first stop is the ruins of Beth She’an, an ancient Roman city of the Decapolis near Mount Gilboa. Saul and Jonathan were killed in battle near here. Our tour will continue south past Jericho to the site of Qumran where the Dead Sea Scrolls were found. We will end our day by checking into our Dea Sea hotel with enough time to enjoy the hotel spa and swim in the medicinal waters of the Dead Sea which is below sea level and holds the title of Earth’s lowest elevation on land.
Sunday, april 16
Sunday morning, we will ascend to Masada, a Herodian fortress where Jewish rebels held out against the forces of Rome in 73 and 34 AD. After, we will continue to the oasis of Ein Gedi where David hid from Saul. We will travel through the Judean wilderness and pass the Inn of the Good Samaritan and view the City of Gold, Jerusalem, from Mount Scopus before checking into our hotel in Jerusalem.
Monday, April 17
(Early morning visit to the Temple Mount if the site is open.) This morning, we will visit the City of David Archaeological site which includes Hezekiah’s Tunnel. This is the site of the Jebusite city conquered by King David. David later made this city his capital. We will continue up to Mount Zion and visit the Upper Room where Jesus had His last supper with the disciples. On Pentecost, the Holy Spirit fell upon the disciples here. You will also see the entrance to what some believe is David’s Tomb. After, we will enter the Old City portion of Jerusalem through the Zion gate and into the Jewish Quarter to visit the Cardo, Broad Wall, Western Wall, and the Southern Steps of the Temple before returning to our hotel.

Today, we will follow the way of Jesus’ suffering beginning at the Mount of Olives overlooking Jerusalem and continuing down the Palm Sunday Path to the Garden of Gethsemane where Jesus prayed, “Not my will, but Your’s be done,” before He was arrested by the Romans. We will enter the Old City via the Lion’s Gate and visit the Pools of Bethesda, the “House of Grace” where Jesus’ grandmother Anne lived, and the Sheep’s Gate where Jesus healed the man born lame on the Sabbath. We also will walk along the Way of the Cross (Via Dolorosa) through the Old City. Next, we will stop by the House of Caiaphas (St. Peter’s of Gallicantu) where Peter denied Jesus before visiting Golgotha and the Garden Tomb for communion.
