FRIDAY MARCH 4, 2022

Arrival at Ben Gurion airport where you will be met and assisted after Passport Control and escorted to your waiting guide and driver, you will be transferred to your hotel in Tel Aviv. Dinner and overnight.

Saturday March 5, 2022

After breakfast, depart the hotel at 07:30 and travel north along the coastal highway to Caesarea Marittima, where Paul was kept prisoner before being sent to trial. You will see the Theatre, port city and Roman Aqueducts. At 10:00 you will depart to the Carmel mountains and to the Druze village of Isifiya (40 min drive), in order to participate in the service at Kehilat HaCarmel, a local faith community on Mt. Carmel. Immediately after the service, you will visit Megiddo for lunch and a tour. If time permits, you can conclude the day by stopping at the Mount of Precipice outside of Nazareth. (Possible late check in on Saturday night). Breakfast, dinner, and overnight at Sea of Galilee hotel.

SUNDAY MARCH 6, 2022

We start the morning with a boat ride on the famous Sea of Galilee. You will view the relics of a First Century Boat at the Yigal Alon Museum. There will be time for shopping at the museum gift shop. Continue the day with Bible Study and prayer at Mt. of Beatitudes, visit Capernaum, Peter’s hometown, where many of Jesus healing miracles took place followed by a visit to Magdala, the hometown of Jesus’ faithful disciple Mary Magdalene. At the end of the day, those interested can be baptized in the Jordan River at the Yardenit baptismal site. If time permits, we can visit Tabgha and Gadara or at least refer to them when at Capernaum. Breakfast, dinner, and overnight at Sea of Galilee hotel.

MONDAY March 7, 2022

Today we will travel to upper Galilee on the border with Lebanon to visit Tel Dan on the Dan River, which is one of the headwaters of the Jordan. You will walk to the ancient site where you will see the remains of the Abrahamic and Jeroboam gates. Next, you will visit Caesarea Philippi (Banias) where Peter recognized Jesus as the Messiah. The rest of the afternoon will be spent traveling through the beautiful Golan Heights (biblical Goshen), a strategic plateau between the Galilee and Syria.  Here you look out into Syria from Mt. Bental. Breakfast, dinner, and overnight at Sea of Galilee hotel.

TUESDAY MARCH 8, 2022

This morning, we depart Galilee and travel south through the Jordan River valley to Beth Shean, where Saul and his sons were killed in the battle on Mt. Gilboa. Traveling through the Jordan River Valley, we will ascend the Samaritan hills to Shiloh, Israel’s capital during the period of the Judges. Here the Ark of the Covenant was kept before King David established Jerusalem as the kingdom’s capital. We then descend to the lowest spot on the face of the earth, the Dead Sea where you can enjoy the hotel spa, the beach, and a float in the salt lake. Breakfast, dinner, and overnight at Hod Dead Sea.

WEDNESDAY MARCH 9, 2022

Today we journey to Masada, the last holdout of the Jewish zealots fighting the oppression of Rome. We continue to Ein Gedi, an oasis in the desert where David hid from Saul and wrote many of his psalms. We will hike through the beautiful nature preserve to the first waterfall. Those interested can cool off under the waterfall. The next stop is the Qumran where the Dead Sea Scrolls were found. There will be time for lunch and shopping at the gift shop. We ascend through the Judean hills, past the Good Samaritan Inn and arrive in Jerusalem. Breakfast, dinner, and overnight at Grand Court Jerusalem.

THURSDAY MARCH 10, 2022

We begin our day in Jerusalem at the archaeological dig at the City of David; here you will see the ancient foundations of the Jebusite city including Hezekiah’s Tunnel and the Pools of Siloam. Continue the day with a visit Church of St. Peter of Galicantu, which may have been the High Priest Caiaphas house where Peter denied knowing Jesus. Next to Mt. Zion to visit a Crusader era chamber commemorating the last supper in the Upper Room. Enter the Old City of Jerusalem through the Zion Gate. Stroll through the Jewish Quarter including the Cardo, the ancient Roman shopping area, the Southern Steps of the Temple and pray at the Western Wall. You will also have a chance to walk through the Western Wall Tunnel, which will take you deep below the surface to see ancient stones and walls of the Temple. Breakfast, dinner, and overnight at Grand Court Jerusalem.

FRIDAY MARCH 11, 2022

This morning, we will depart the hotel at 08:00 and drive past the Knesset, Israel’s parliament and Menorah. We continue to the Israel Museum including the Shrine of the Book and the 2nd Temple Period Model (09:30 to 10:45). Next, we head to Bethlehem (a 30 min drive), where Boaz met Ruth, King David’s hometown, and the birthplace of Jesus the Messiah. There you will visit the Church of Nativity and Shepherds Fields. There will also be time for lunch and shopping at the olive wood factory. Breakfast, dinner, and overnight at Grand Court Jerusalem.

SATURDAY MARCH 12, 2022

Today, we follow in the path of the suffering, death, and resurrection of Jesus. We begin at the Mt. of Olives overlooking the ancient city of Jerusalem. We continue down the Palm Sunday Path to the Garden of Gethsemane where Jesus prayed “not my will but yours be done” before he was arrested by the Romans. We again enter the Old City via the Lions Gate where you will visit the Pools of Bethesda (St. Anne’s) where Jesus healed the paralytic. Continue along the Way of the Cross, the via Dolorosa, the path along which Jesus suffered on his way to the Cross. We will enter the Church of the Holy Sepulcher; the site which traditional Church denominations believe is Golgotha and the burial place of Jesus. At the end of the day, there will be time for prayer and communion in what is known as “Gordon’s Calvary,” the Garden Tomb, a beautiful garden outside the current Old City walls where many celebrate the resurrection of the Messiah. There is a nice gift shop available shopping. Breakfast, dinner, and overnight at Grand Court Jerusalem.

SUNDAY March 13, 2022

Free day to spend in Jerusalem or rest in the hotel. Suggestions for the day: Visit the American Colony Hotel (walking distance from the Grand Court), home of Horatio Spafford who wrote the hymn “It is Well with My Soul”. Is may be possible to visit the Temple Mount, ask your tour guide and leaders for guidance. It is highly recommended that you enter the Old City via the Jaffa Gate not the Damascus Gate even though it is closer to the hotel. You can walk along the Ramparts from the Jaffa Gate, Visit the Tower of David Museum, return to the Christian or Jewish Quarters to tour and shop or other sites already visited. Other areas of interest include the Mamilla Shopping area outside the Jaffa Gate, Ben Yehuda Street, and Jaffa Road, You can also visit the Machane Yehuda Open Market (which is more limited on Sundays), The King David Hotel, YMCA Tower, and the Yemen Moshe Historical neighborhood. Those interested can visit Yad Vashem Holocaust Memorial Museum. The Light Rail Train which is near the Grand Court Hotel can be used to get close to the Mamilla Mall, Jaffa Road, and Machane Yehuda Market and close to Yad Vashem. All guests will have their rooms throughout the day to be used to rest and clean up before the flight home. Farewell dinner will be at the hotel before departing for the airport and return flight home. Breakfast and farewell dinner.
