Tel Dan
While Tel Dan may now be a nature preserve, it was once a mighty city in which the Israelite tribe of Dan took up residence. Judges 18 recounts the story of how the tribe of Dan came to the city originally called Laish.
Tel Dan was also where Jeroboam son of Nebat erected a golden calf after the kingdom of Israel was divided during the reign of Rehoboam son of Solomon (1 Kings 12).
